On our website you will find a comprehensive listing of supports available for families in Oscoda County.This directory is the result of the collaborative effort between the Early On Local Interagency Coordinating Council and the Oscoda County Human Services Coordinating Council.
Early On (r) coordinates services for infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities. As an Early On team, C.O.O.R. Intermediate School District, District Health Department No. 2, AuSable Valley Community Mental Health, Oscoda County Department of Human Services, Northeast Michigan Community Services Agency, Mio AuSable and Fairview School Districts, 4C Childcare, MSU Extension, parents and other community partners provide local services and support to families of Oscoda County.
The Oscoda County Human Services Coordinating Council meets monthly with the
purpose to strengthen
cooperation among agencies, organizations, educational
systems, law enforcement units, and volunteer groups for the purpose of taking a
collaborative approach to planning and implementing programs for the prevention
of human disabilities and the promotion of physical and emotional wellness of
community residents; and to participate in a coordinated community planning
approach for the establishment of prevention/human services which assesses
community needs, develops prevention plans of action emphasizing interagency
collaboration, and promotes and forwards those plans to the proper funding
sources for the purpose of program implementation.
Great Start is Michigan's Early Childhood initiative in which the belief that learning begins at birth is supported. These collaborative systems are committed to providing information and resources to families in our area.
